Credit History

I had one of my credit cards stolen recently-about a month ago, and I was very fortunate that my credit card company knew about it-they actually contacted me about the possibility of fraud-and they were very quick to rectify the problem and professional in the entire matter. I could very easily have had weeks if not months of headaches attempting to correct the error and subsequent problems that would have incurred.
I mention this because I’ve had problems with a different credit card company in the past-one who has not taken my side in previous disputes on my account and has made me pay for other’s charges in the past.
Having said this-I realize that I’ve not ever checked my credit history. I’m well educated and have what I would consider common sense, but I’ve not ever wanted to check my credit score or credit history for fear of finding out it was not a nice clean well kept area-much like I attempt to keep my home, but was in fact a horrible mess. A place that might be more akin to an outhouse-It might look ok from a distance, but get up close and boy does it smell!
So I took the plunge recently and checked my credit score/history, and I’m relieved to say that all was as I expected it to be.
